A Nigerian footballer and around two others have been seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for web extortion.
As per a report by Punch Metro, an individual from the feeder group of the prevalent Ibadan-based Shooting Stars Sports Club, otherwise known as 3SC, Dayo Oginni, was on Monday captured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan zonal office, for supposed contribution in Internet-related offenses.
Oginni was captured close by his brother by marriage, Alabi Okikiola; and his companion, Jonas Okwuwe, at an area on Fortune Estate, in the Ologuneru Olonde region of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Their capture pursued an appeal from a neighbor, who raised doubt on the way of life of the suspects, who he said did not have any known wellsprings of salary.
“Endless supply of the appeal and further cautious examination, agents of the commission completed an early morning attack which prompted their capture on Monday,” a source said.
Further examination affirmed that Oginni was to be sure an individual from the well known soccer feeder group, yet an authority said he had not been going to preparing for some time.
